Goal Statement
The goal of this activity is to improve learners’ knowledge and competence regarding the burden of RSV infections in older adults and strategies to optimize vaccine uptake.

Target Audience
This program is intended for pharmacists, including community, ambulatory care, primary care, and clinical pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians who care for older adults in need of RSV vaccination.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the burden of RSV in older adults including disease manifestations and risk factors for severe outcomes
  • Compare available and emerging RSV vaccines for older adults including mechanisms of action and safety and efficacy data
  • Employ optimal shared clinical decision-making strategies to counsel older adults about RSV vaccination
