Naloxone Prescribing Policies

Clinical Thought

Naloxone is a lifesaving drug used to reverse opioid overdose–induced respiratory depression. Although over-the-counter formulations are now available, healthcare professionals still need to be aware of federal and state policies regarding its prescription to best serve their communities.
