These five projects represent some of the exceptional research being conducted by SIDP members. Presentations include the following: Bedside Nurses Improve Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention Outcomes; Eosinopenia and Binary Toxin Increases Mortality in Hospitalized Patients with Clostridioides Difficile Infection; Impact of Vancomycin Area Under Curve on Persistent Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Bloodstream Infections; Activity of Fosfomycin and Frequency of Nonsusceptible Inner Colonies During Susceptibility Testing of an International Collection of Clinical Pseudomonas aeruginosa Isolates; Comparison of Diagnosis and Prescribing Practices Between Virtual Visits and Office Visits for Sinusitis Within Primary Care Practice.

SIDPEC is the educational hub of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP). The SIDPEC portal provides educational activities on infectious disease pharmacotherapy for clinical pharmacists, health?systems pharmacists, community pharmacists, and other allied?health disciplines.

Learning Objectives

The target audience for this activity is pharmacists. At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss results of bedside nurses in stewardship.
  • Discuss research results about eosinopenia and binary toxin in C. difficile infection.
  • Discuss research about persistent MRSA bloodstream infections and vancomycin AUC.
  • Discuss susceptibility results of fosfomycin against Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
  • Discuss the efficacy of virtual visits for the treatment of sinusitis.
